How to Make a Diablo 4 Loot Filter

A beginner-friendly walkthrough for making a Diablo 4 loot filter that shows upgrades and hides farming clutter.

Start with what you never want to miss

Before hiding anything, make rules for the drops you always want to see. That usually means build-defining uniques, Greater Affix gear, talisman pieces, important item slots, and the affixes your current build needs most.

Use gear slots to reduce noise

A good Diablo 4 loot filter should not treat every stat the same on every item. If you need Critical Strike Chance on rings, make that a ring rule. If you need Maximum Life on armor, make that an armor rule.

Put cleanup rules at the bottom

Hide or soften low-value items only after your important show and recolor rules. Rule order matters because broad cleanup can hide items you meant to inspect if it runs too early.

Test before a long farm

Run a short activity, watch what drops, and adjust the filter. If too much is visible, tighten the cleanup rules. If upgrades are disappearing, make your protection rules less strict or move them higher.
